Visit
Parking.
We warmly welcome you to Culross, one of Scotland’s most picturesque and historic villages. To help preserve its charm and ensure safety and accessibility for all, we ask visitors to follow the village parking guidelines.
Thank you for helping us keep Culross safe, beautiful, and enjoyable for everyone.
Where to Park
There are two large public car parks available:
East Car Park (near the Primary School)
West Car Park (near the play park)
These are both within walking distance of the village centre and offer ample space for cars, campervans, and small vehicles.
There are disabled parking bays in both car parks and also two EV chargers in the West Car Park.
Please Note
Pavement Parking Ban: From 1st September 2025, parking on pavements, double parking and parking over kerbs dropped for pedestrians to cross are banned.
No Parking in the Village Centre: The heart of Culross is designated as an urban clearway (March-Oct). Parking is not permitted on the main streets through the village.
Respect Residential Areas: The houses in Culross are private homes. Please be considerate and do not block driveways or access points.
Emergency Access: Always leave enough room for emergency vehicles to pass through narrow roads.
No Large Vehicles or Coaches via Gallows Loan: Coaches and large vehicles must not enter from Gallows Loan off the A985, as the road is unsuitable for large traffic.
Campervans and Caravans: You are welcome to use the village car parks, but please do not park in bus stops or designated drop-off points, and always park with respect for others.
Coach Access & Parking
Coaches must park in the East Car Park, located near the Primary School. This area is spacious and allows safe access for passengers.
Coaches of less than 35 pax may park in the West Car Park (subject to availability).
Please do not enter the village centre, as the streets are narrow and not suitable for large vehicles.
Do not use Gallows Loan (off the A985) for entry – this route is not suitable for coaches.
Switch off engines when stationary to reduce noise and emissions.
Ensure passengers are dropped off in designated areas only (East Car Park) – not in bus stops or on residential roads.
Allow space for other vehicles and never block access routes or driveways.
